Play therapy is a therapeutic approach based on developmental principles. It is a process where the child chooses objects, symbols, or types of play to express their concerns and work through particular problems.
A psycho-educational group for parents and their children with anxiety, ages 4-7 and 8 to 10 to reduce symptoms of anxiety through developing and implementing effective coping strategies.
All clinicians have been trained by and receive ongoing supervision/consultation from Certified Play Therapy Supervisors. Our certified supervisors have completed over 2500 hours of post-graduate work in child and play therapy in addition to specialized course work.
During an initial consultation meeting a skilled clinician ensures that your questions and concerns are clearly understood and that a plan for the most appropriate service is jointly formulated. Parents are an essential component of this initial step.
Neurofeedback is direct training of brain function, by which the brain learns to function more efficiently. Basically, it is using a computer to observe the brain in action from moment to moment. Then, we show that information back to the person.
We are happy to work together with you and FSCD in supporting your family. At RMPS we have experience with coordinating Specialized Services teams, leading Developmental/Behavioural programs, and we also offer Counseling services for FSCD. Direct billing to FSCD available.
